Exploring the concept of “belief” as it relates to achieving goals.
Question #5 in this Exploration:
5. How do you differentiate between faith and confidence when it comes to understanding the importance of belief in pursuing your goals?
Faith and Confidence are fundamental components to belief:
– Faith: generally defined more as the conviction an individual holds regarding the possibility of achieving a particular goal. It involves a deep complex sense of trust in the overall attainability of the objective, even if it might not be immediately evident or certain.
– Confidence: on the other hand, is mostly based on one’s self-assurance and trust in their abilities, skills, and adaptability needed to execute the necessary steps to achieve the goal. It’s a belief in oneself, acknowledging one’s competence and aptitude in handling the tasks or challenges related to the goal.
While faith is about the conviction in the possibility of the goal, confidence relates more to self-assurance in one’s capability to navigate the path towards achieving that goal. Both are crucial in goal pursuit; faith lays the foundation for the aspiration, while confidence empowers the individual to move from a place of indecision to decision and overcome the necessity obstacles that come up on the journey toward achieving the goal.
