Exploring the concept of “belief” as it relates to achieving goals.
Question #8 in this Exploration:
8. In your opinion, can belief alone drive someone towards achieving their goals, or is it just the first step in a series of actions?
It is my opinion that ‘Belief’ will serve as a powerful driving force in pursuing goals, acting primarily as a foundational principle. However, it operates as both the initial and final step among a series of steps necessary for achieving your goals.
Belief provides that initial motivation and direction through purpose, confidence, self-assurance, and of course faith. It’s the achievement of your goals that confirms or reinforces new beliefs. What you believe is only as effective as the decisions you make. Decision moves you out of a place of interest and contemplation into the planning stages. Then there is Action! It’s Action that allows you to make moves. Your commitment to your plan becomes real when you move from the ‘thinking’ to the ‘doing’. Action is working the plan with intention. Action requires perseverance, adaptability, skills, support, and the necessary intelligence to overcoming obstacles. There are always underlying principles that are crucial components that complement the steps and help us to produce measurable metrics. Metrics that allow us to assess the results of our efforts.
Belief sets the tone and provides the motivation to start, but sustained effort, strategic planning, and consistent action are needed to transform that belief into successful outcomes. The combination of belief, decision, and action produces results and forms a potent formula for curating a stronger belief in achieving goals.
