Participants will carry a weighted rucksack over a 50-mile distance, with weight scaling based on age group. Challenge Details
- Event Type: Online and in-person challenge
- Objective: Complete a 50-mile ruck in the shortest possible time while carrying the prescribed weight.
Rules & Guidelines
Starting Position:
- Participants must start from a designated location.
- The rucksack must be properly secured before beginning.
Ruck Execution:
- The total distance covered must be exactly 50 miles.
- Participants may complete the challenge on any terrain (trail, road, track, or treadmill) but must measure distance accurately.
- Pausing or stopping the timer mid-ruck will result in disqualification.
Weight Scaling by Age Group:
- Youth 1 (8-10): 15 lbs
- Youth 2 (11-12): 20 lbs
- Teen 1 (13-15): 25 lbs
- Teen 2 (16-18): 35 lbs
- Junior (19-22): 50 lbs
- Senior (23-34): 50 lbs
- Sub-Masters (35-39): 50 lbs
- Masters 1 (40-49): 50 lbs
- Masters 2 (50-59): 50 lbs
- Masters 3 (60-69): 50 lbs
Measurement:
- Time must be tracked using a GPS-based running app or smartwatch (Parade activity tracker, Strava, Garmin, Nike Run Club, etc.).
- Screenshots of the completed ruck, including time, distance, and weight carried, must be submitted for verification.
Video Submission Requirements (For Online Entries):
- Ensure the entire ruck is properly tracked on a verifiable tracking app.
- Submit a screenshot of your ruck summary showing distance, time, and weight carried.
- Optional: Record a short video of yourself at the start and finish of your ruck for added verification. Editing the video is acceptable for this challenge.
