The SCS Course is designed for individuals interested in the professional field of strength and conditioning. The course is designed for those who have completed a 4 year degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Physiology. Preferred qualifications include; Experience in college strength and conditioning or football playing experience; 1 certification- CSCS, USAW, SCCC.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Learning the Grinder SCS training system.
- Working with small groups of athletes and private clients.
- Assisting the Grinder Strength & Conditioning team with athlete training modification to accommodate unique needs of clients that include Competitive preparation, Recovery and regeneration, testing and data entry.
- Assisting with facility cleaning, setting up and preparing the facility for training sessions.
Prerequisites
Before starting your Certificate and Certification program, you’ll need to have completed a few prerequisites. For example, each program requires that you are 18 years or older, and that you have a hands-on CPR and AED (automatic external defibrillator) certification. You can attain these certifications through a community education program or the Red Cross. Participants must at minimum have a high school diploma or GED. Some programs require a specific degree or college enrollment.

Various organization offer different resources that will be required to have in order to study for their certification, but we cover the differences for each. We have these different materials available for you to resource.
Accreditation/ College Credit/ CEU’s
The SCS Course does not offer accreditation, college credit, or CEU’s independently.
Internship Opportunity
This course can be completed as a twelve week internship. At twenty hours a week you will accumulate two hundred and forty hours. If you need more hours for your degree completion, then we will accommodate. You must be able to receive college credit for the internship in order to complete this course in connection with an internship. To learn more about our internship click here.
Cost
There is no cost involved for the SCS Course if completed in connection with a Grinder Internship. All internships are non-paid. A significant investment of your time is required, but once you complete the program you will have the confidence to take on strength and conditioning clients. At this time we are only providing this course to those eligible to complete the course in connection with an internship that provides college credit.
Deadlines
All applicants must submit an application by the following dates to be considered for an interview:
- Summer – April 15th
- Fall – June 1st
- Winter – November 1st
- Spring – January 21st
