RULES
*Subject to change – all current information listed here and updated if there are changes.
FOR ALL EVENTS:
- Competition shirt MUST be worn
- No bare feet (must have at least socks on)
- No tacky or sticky substance
- No gloves
- No build up belts (only one hard and one soft)
- No suits or briefs
- Any athlete who leaks any body fluids (blood, urine, vomit, etc) on the competition field must help clean it up.
1. YOKE WALK
Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Knee Wraps, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt
Time Limit: 60 seconds
Distance: 50 feet down, 50 feet back
Scoring: Distance + Time
Athlete will get set in the yoke. On the start command of the judge, the athlete will pick up the yoke and carry it 50 feet down. Once the tip of the yoke crosses the line, the athlete will drop the yoke, turn around, re-pick the yoke and carry it 50 feet back. If the athlete does not finish the total run in 60 seconds, a distance will be taken. Athlete has unlimited drops. A slide penalty of 5 seconds will be given to anyone who slides the yoke.
Equipment Allowed:
Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt
Time Limit:
60 seconds
Scoring:
Max Reps
On the start command of the judge, the athlete will have 60 seconds to complete as many clean and press repetitions as possible. The log must be cleaned to the chest before each press. The athlete may use both hands for the clean, but the log must be stabilized and held in the rack position before pressing. The judge will give a down command for a good rep.
A down command will be given when the athlete has pressed the log overhead and demonstrated:
- A fully locked-out elbow position.
- Standing upright with straight legs and squared feet.
- Full control of the log.
- Eyes focused on the judge.
If a down command is not given and the athlete drops the log, the rep will not count. If an athlete has an elbow lockout issue, they must notify the judge prior to their attempt.
After receiving a down command, the log must touch the floor before beginning the next press attempt. The log can be dropped overhead but must be controlled and guided to the floor. Any uncontrolled or “tree drop” action will result in a ZERO for the event. Respect the equipment, and ensure the log is dropped on the designated stall mats.
3. FARMERS WALK
Equipment Allowed:
Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt
Time Limit:
60 Seconds
Scoring:
Fastest Time to Complete the Course or Max Distance
The athlete will start standing behind the implements, with both handles resting on the ground. On the start command of the judge, the athlete will lift the handles and carry them along the designated course as quickly as possible.
Repetition Requirements:
- The course will include a set distance to be completed (e.g., 50 feet down and back) or will measure the maximum distance carried within the time limit.
- Both implements must fully cross the finish line to complete the course.
Additional Rules:
- The athlete must pick up both handles simultaneously and maintain control throughout the walk.
- Dropping an implement mid-course is allowed, but the athlete must re-lift the handles to continue.
- Implements must be carried in the hands—dragging them or resting on the body is prohibited.
- The athlete must remain within the designated lane; stepping outside the lane will result in penalties or disqualification at the judge’s discretion.
- No sliding or dragging of the implements is permitted; the athlete must demonstrate controlled movement.
- Deliberately throwing or slamming the implements at any point will result in a ZERO for the event.
Tie-Breaker:
If two athletes achieve the same time or distance, the tie will be resolved based on the athlete who carried the implements farther before their first drop.
Equipment Allowed:
Chalk, Wrist Straps, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt, Straps
Time Limit:
60 Seconds
Scoring:
Max Reps
The athlete will start standing behind the frame. On the start command of the judge, the athlete will grip the handles (straps may be used) and begin pulling. Judges will give only Down commands for each repetition. Failure to bring all corners of the frame down will result in a No Rep.
Repetition Requirements:
- The athlete must lock out each rep with shoulders back, hips through, and knees locked to receive an Up Command.
- The frame must be controlled and returned to the ground completely before starting the next repetition—no touch-and-go reps are allowed.
- The frame must not be lifted only once it has come to rest on the ground, and if dropped before the Down Command, the rep will not count.
Additional Rules:
- Deliberately dropping the frame from the top will result in a ZERO for the event.
- Finger-tipping the frame while using straps is prohibited.
- Respect the equipment: ensure the frame is lowered under control and placed on the designated stall mats.
This event will be conducted using a stiff frame, which adds to the challenge of maintaining grip and stability under load.
5. SANDBAG TOSS
Equipment Allowed:
Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt
Time Limit:
60 Seconds
Scoring:
Max Bags Over the Bar
The athlete will start standing behind the throwing line with the sandbags positioned in front of them. On the start command of the judge, the athlete will pick up the first sandbag and toss it over the bar.
Repetition Requirements:
- Each sandbag must be tossed individually over the bar.
- The bag must clear the designated bar height (12 feet for women, 15 feet for men) to count as a successful rep.
- The athlete may attempt multiple throws if a bag does not clear the bar, but only successful attempts will count toward the score.
Additional Rules:
- The athlete must remain behind the throwing line throughout the event. Stepping on or over the line will void the rep.
- Bags must be thrown in ascending order of weight. Skipping bags is not allowed.
- All bags must be thrown using a single motion—no pushing or rolling is permitted.
- The sandbag must land in the designated drop zone after clearing the bar. Bags landing outside the drop zone may result in a no-rep at the judge’s discretion.
- Deliberate misuse or throwing of bags outside the competition area will result in a ZERO for the event.
