Trap Training Manual

A yoke is what makes an upper body look powerful from behind. But most lifters either ignore traps completely or do a few light shrugs and move on.

If you want the yoke that makes a physique look strong, or your posture and mid-back are weak, this is the fix. The Trap Training Manual builds all three regions of the traps, the way we train them at Grinder Gym.

Build a Yoke. Upper Traps for the Look, Mid and Lower for the Balance.

Why Traps Get Ignored

The traps are three regions, upper, middle, and lower, and most lifters only ever do a few light upper-trap shrugs. The mid and lower traps that build posture, shoulder health, and real upper-back strength get nothing. This manual trains all three and loads the upper traps the way they can actually handle.

What Makes This Manual Different

Upper Traps

Heavy barbell and dumbbell shrugs with a real squeeze and pause at the top, plus heavy carries that load the traps under a long time under tension. The upper trap handles heavy loads, so it gets them.

Mid And Lower Traps

Prone Y-raises, face pulls, and chest-supported rows angled to drive the shoulder blades down and back. This is the region that builds posture and protects the shoulders.

Carries

Farmer carries and shrug carries that build the whole yoke and tie in directly with grip and forearm work.

The Method

Mechanical tension, heavy loading where the muscle can take it, controlled tempo, and a hard squeeze at the top, programmed across three phases that accumulate, intensify, and overreach.
