Description:

Steel bending is a strength feat where the athlete bends steel bars, nails, or bolts using the hands and body, building tremendous grip and pressing strength.

Instructions:

  1. Wrap and pad the steel for safety and grip it at both ends.
  2. Set the steel against a strong point such as the hip or chest.
  3. Drive your hands toward each other to kink the steel.
  4. Crush the bend down by sweeping the ends together.
  5. Work the steel until it is bent.

Common Mistakes:

  • Breaking position or rounding the back under load.
  • Rushing the lift instead of staying tight.
  • Using a range or technique that does not meet the standard.
  • Going too heavy before the technique is solid.
