Description:

Instructions:

  1. Hold the Smith machine bar in front of your thighs with an overhand grip about shoulder width.
  2. Stand tall holding the weight in front of your thighs with an overhand grip.
  3. Pull it straight up the front of your body, leading with your elbows.
  4. Bring it to about upper chest height with the elbows high.
  5. Lower under control back to the start.
  6. Repeat for the desired reps.

Common Mistakes:

  • Using too narrow a grip that stresses the wrists and shoulders.
  • Pulling so high that the shoulder pinches.
  • Heaving with the lower back.
  • Shrugging excessively at the top.
