Attachment:

• Origin:
  • Anterior inferior iliac spine
  • Superior margin of the acetabulum
• Insertion:
  • Patella via the quadriceps tendon
  • Tibial tuberosity via the patellar ligament

Vastus Lateralis

Movement:

• Extension of the knee
  • Straightening the leg

Attachment:

• Origin:
  • Greater trochanter of the femur
  • Lateral lip of the linea aspera
• Insertion:
