Frame Hold

The frame hold is a prominent event in strongman competitions where participants are tasked with lifting and holding a heavy frame for as long as possible. This test of static strength and endurance pushes competitors to maintain a rigid position while supporting a substantial weight, highlighting their ability to endure and withstand intense physical strain under pressure.

Frame Hold: Max Time

  • 1 attempt for the best time.
  • No time limit.
  • Farmers Implements: May have various designs however handles should be between 1
  • ¼” to 1 ½” in diameter and un-knurled. Handle height should be between 15” to 18” from floor to bottom of handles.
  • Time starts when athlete locks out the implements.
  • Time stops when one or both implements hit the floor.
  • The judge may read off every 5 seconds.
  • Athlete may NOT have their legs in a wide stance to provide “assistance”. Judges call.
  • Equipment Allowed:  Belt, Chalk, knee wraps or sleeves, wrist wraps.
  • Equipment NOT Allowed:  Lifting straps or hooks, tacky.
