Grinder Gym is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all members, guests, staff, and contractors. This Emergency Procedures Policy outlines our response protocols in the event of medical emergencies, facility hazards, natural disasters, or other urgent situations. Every individual on the premises is expected to follow posted procedures and staff instructions without delay.
General Safety Overview
- Emergency exits are clearly marked and must remain unobstructed at all times.
- Fire extinguishers, AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), and first-aid kits are located in accessible and labeled locations.
- Staff are trained in CPR, basic first aid, and emergency response protocols.
- 911 should be called immediately for any life-threatening situation.
Medical Emergencies
In the event of an injury or medical incident:
- Notify a staff member immediately.
- Do not attempt to move the individual unless they are in immediate danger.
- Call 911 for serious injuries, loss of consciousness, seizures, severe bleeding, or signs of heart attack/stroke.
- Staff will assist in providing first aid, directing emergency services, and managing crowd control.
Fire or Evacuation
If a fire alarm sounds or there is a fire-related emergency:
- Evacuate the building immediately using the nearest marked exit.
- Do not attempt to collect personal belongings.
- Assist others only if it is safe to do so.
- Once outside, gather at the designated assembly point located [insert location here or specify front/side of building].
- Do not re-enter the facility until cleared by fire officials or management.
Power Outages
In the event of a power failure:
- Remain calm and await further instructions.
- Emergency lighting will activate automatically.
- If safe to do so, discontinue use of all gym equipment to prevent injury.
- Exit the facility if instructed by staff or if conditions become unsafe.
Natural Disasters or Active Threats
For earthquakes, severe weather, or other natural disasters:
- Follow posted protocols and instructions from emergency personnel.
- Take shelter in designated safe zones when necessary.
- Remain inside if safer than exiting, unless otherwise instructed.
For active shooter or violent threats:
- Run: If there is a safe escape path, evacuate the area.
- Hide: If escape is not possible, find a secure hiding place and silence phones.
- Fight: As a last resort and only if your life is in immediate danger, attempt to incapacitate the threat.
- Call 911 as soon as it is safe to do so.
Reporting and Post-Incident Procedures
Any emergencies, injuries, suspicious activity, or safety hazards must be reported to management as soon as possible. A written incident report may be required.
Following any emergency:
- Grinder Gym management will assess the situation.
- A post-incident review may occur to improve future response protocols.
- Affected members may be contacted for follow-up or support if appropriate.
Member and Guest Responsibilities
All members and guests are expected to:
- Review posted emergency procedures and exits upon entering the facility.
- Cooperate fully with staff and first responders.
- Refrain from interfering with emergency equipment or response efforts.
- Provide accurate information during and after emergency situations.
